Dr. Kevin Ellers is a top coach guiding leaders from their hardest seasons to their fullest lives. He serves as State Chaplain for the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police — a role he has held for over 20 years. He is faculty with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF), the world's largest training institution for crisis responders, a former adjunct professor at Olivet Nazarene University, and past chair of the National VOAD Emotional and Spiritual Care Committee. He retired in February 2025 as Territorial Disaster, Crisis Services and Chaplaincy Director for The Salvation Army's U.S.A. Central Territory after 30 years of service, and now serves as President/CEO of Crisis Response Care — a national training program originally launched by K-LOVE Radio — in partnership with the Institute for Compassionate Care.

His books and curricula include The First 48 Hours, Grief Following Trauma, Hope and Healing for Grief (AACC Christian Counseling Workbook Series), and courses on Emotional and Spiritual Care in Disasters, Spiritual and Psychological First Aid, Understanding Suicide, and Stress, Compassion Fatigue and Resiliency.

Jennifer Cisney Ellers M.A.

Jennifer Cisney Ellers is a Christian counselor, professional life coach, crisis responder, trainer and author.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Wake Forest University.  She is Senior Director of Advancement, Special Projects and Church Engagement with the American Association of Christian Counselors and serves as Director of AACC Publishing.  She provides training, consulting, and care for issues of grief, crisis, trauma and suicide.  She is an approved instructor and faculty with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and co-author of several CISM courses, including “Understanding Suicide: Tools for Prevention, Intervention and Survivor Support”.  She also authored a course on youth suicide and is instructor of AACC’s Hope-Focused 3-R Suicide programs.  She is co-author of two books including, “The First 48 Hours: Spiritual Caregivers as First Responders”.  She and her husband, Kevin, live in Hampshire, IL.
