Who is the best life coach in the Chicago area?  Maybe it is a horse!  I have  found that people usually grow through a dance of both movement and stillness.  Most of life in our society today pushes us toward movement and achievement.  After hitting burnout from years of grief, trauma and disaster work but not having balance in my life, I began to really do some deep inner work, reimagine my life, set new goals, and make some substantial  changes to my focus and engagement in life.  An encounter on the back of  a horse while riding among some wild horses on the outer banks created a dramatic inner and physical shift and healing.  In a few hours my body had completely reset and launched me on a quest to discover this human and horse partnership that I had experienced.  I went on to get training and certification in Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) and began integrating horses and other natural healing and growth resources within spiritual practices.I had loved horses as a child but a traumatic experience with a  runaway horse in my teen years sent me away from horses  into the world of motorcycles. What I have discovered personally, scientifically, and observed in my work with people is that horses are powerful in helping people heal and grow for many reasons that science is only beginning to understand and document.  Our ancient civilizations knew and understood this as  we once lived within the natural rhythms and had deeper connections with nature, others and God.
